Christian D. Haase, Psy.D.
Dr. Haase is a New York State-licensed psychologist with over 15 years of experience as a mental health clinician. He currently serves at NYC Health + Hospitals Bellevue in the World Trade Center Environmental Health Clinic and holds a Clinical Assistant Professorship at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine.
Dr. Haase earned his doctoral degree in Clinical and School Psychology from James Madison University and completed his postdoctoral fellowship at NYU’s Counseling and Wellness Services clinic. He also holds a Master’s in Counseling and a graduate certificate in Working with Survivors of Violence, Torture, and Trauma.

Dr. Haase specializes in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, relationship challenges, gender-related concerns, anger management, shame, and family-of-origin issues.
His therapeutic approach is integrative and person-centered, drawing from humanistic and attachment-based psychology.

His experience spans LGBTQ+ communities, veterans, college students, and individuals in both urban and rural settings, with work across college counseling centers, hospitals, crisis intervention, and community mental health clinics.
Personal
Outside of his clinical work, Dr. Haase enjoys hiking in all seasons, cooking delicious meals, staying active (through climbing and yoga), and reading books that are completely different from his last read. Most importantly, he values quality time with family, friends, and his very sweet (and occasionally temperamental) cat, Joni.
